In this
application an industrial PC is used as a central control
center for a government’s video lottery system. Inside each
PC, four Blue Heat-8/PCI 485 cards are installed. Each
board is connected to 80 video lottery terminals using the
RS-485’s multi-drop mode. This allows each central computer
system to control 320 video lottery terminals. Reliability is
crucial, since this control center must run uninterrupted 24
hours a day, seven days a week.
