New Ethernet-to-serial device expands data options
Guelph, Ontario - May, 2004
Connect Tech Inc., designer and manufacturer of multi-port serial adapters since 1985, introduces the
Blue Heat/Net,
an Ethernet-to-serial device that will network enable any standard serial device.
The
Blue Heat/Net
can connect anywhere, so you can remotely monitor equipment over a LAN or use the World Wide Web to easily access your
peripherals from wherever you need to be. It eliminates the need for a dedicated PC, cutting
equipment expenses and saving floor space.
Four or eight ports of RS-232 or RS-422/485
interface (DB-9 models offer selectable RS-232/422/485), and the ability to configure the Blue
Heat/Net via web-based HTTP, Telnet or serial interface make this device flexible and easy to use.
High speed communication requirements are satisfied with real data transfer speeds
between 50 bps and 230.4 Kbps per port for RS-232 models, and up to 460.8 Kbps for RS-422/485.
Based on the uClinux embedded operating system, the Blue Heat/Net offers
programmers a familiar Linux API. This offers the potential for developers to create customized
protocols and download them directly to the on-board Flash memory.
