Connect Tech Provides TransCore with Vital Communication Link 

Guelph, Ontario - January 2002

Connect Tech Inc., a Guelph-based provider of serial connectivity solutions, will once again play a role in the smooth integration of a toll system on a large U.S. highway. TransCore, a world leader in the design and maintenance of toll collection systems, has inked a $400,000 purchase deal with Connect Tech to provide an important communication link within the system, designed for a famed stretch of user pay road.

TransCore works with nearly 4,000 traffic lanes worldwide, and is responsible for 65 percent of the United State’s toll-equipped lanes.

Connect Tech will provide the almost 1,000 PCI bus serial adapters necessary to facilitate communications within the toll booth equipment. TransCore will rely on Connect Tech’s Blue Heat technology, which provides 8 ports of RS-232 interface.

Connect Tech has teamed in the past with toll road designers Raytheon (Toronto’s 407) and FCC Construcción (Barcelona, Spain).
