Connect Tech Inc. to participate in Chrétien’s Team
Canada Trade Mission
Guelph, Ontario - January 2002
Connect Tech Inc. of Guelph, Ontario, has been named an
official member of Team Canada 2002, and will attend the
prestigious trade mission led by Prime Minister Jean Chrétien,
February 12 to 22.
This year the delegates will travel to Moscow, Russia, and
Berlin and Munich, Germany, to aid in the development of
foreign business relationships. Connect Tech, who already has
business ties within these countries, is hoping to expand its
customer base and enhance communications with current clients
through this networking opportunity.
David Worthen, President and Co-Owner of Connect Tech Inc. is
excited the invitation was extended to his 16-year-old serial
communications company. He explained the mission provides “An
excellent opportunity for CTI to visit customers in host
cities and expand our export base by understanding the needs
within the target markets. With so many of our North American
successes involving custom design, it will allow us to discuss
individualized applications of our products in new markets.”
This is the 7th Team Canada mission, and this year
includes approximately 220 delegates from across Canada. The
mission is also attended by the provincial premiers and
territorial government leaders. To date, these missions have
helped more than 2,400 representatives of Canadian business
and organizations expand their access to leaders in government
and the private sector in international markets, contributing
to some $30.1 billion in new business.
Canada already enjoys a strong, two-way trade economy with
Russia and Germany. As calculated in 2000, the dollar amounts
for two-way trade were $870 million and $11 billion,
respectively. It is hoped that this year’s Team Canada mission
will increase these numbers by opening doors previously closed
to Canadian business.
