Connect Tech Inc. teams with Ardence to offer RTX support
Guelph,
May 2006
Connect Tech Inc. today
announced the release of an RTX driver for its CompactPCI family of serial cards,
Titan/cPCI.
The development of the RTX
driver is a result of Connect Tech’s new partnership with RTX creator Ardence, through their RTX
Embedded Driver Partnership Program. Connect Tech is now able to offer support for the
high-performance extension that controls Microsoft Windows for its embedded communications products,
and will be expanding RTX support for more products in the coming months.
“We are pleased to have
Connect Tech join the RTX Embedded Driver Partner Program” said Stephen Woodard, Ardence’s Senior Vice
President, Global Operations. “It further proves the strength of RTX in the market and that customers
are expanding their usage of RTX to address new markets by
requesting new drivers for additional OEM functionality and capabilities.”
With over 100 RTX drivers
currently available from RTX driver partners, the addition of Connect Tech embedded communication
products expands RTX functionality and capabilities to include real time high speed communications.
“Developing drivers for RTX is
important to expand our product reach and provide our mutual customers with more options for embedded
communications,” David Worthen, President and CEO of Connect Tech said. “We are committed to
supporting our customers, and this partnership allows us to expand our support for existing customers
while paving the way for new ones.”
Connect Tech’s Titan/cPCI products are used in many demanding applications, such
as industrial automation and control, defense systems, robotics and testing equipment. The RTX
software solution is a perfect fit for these environments, providing precise control of IRQs, I/O and
memory. RTX does not require the employment of separate hardware or
computers for real-time or critical processes, providing developers with the ultimate control for
system solutions.
The Titan/cPCI is available with 2 or 4
asynchronous RS-232 and/or RS-422/485, jumper selectable serial ports. The Titan also offers support
for three RS-422/485 modes, optical isolation and Rear I/O.
Connect Tech will work to incorporate RTX support for
a number of their embedded products, which include multi-port serial adapters and Radio Modems
designed for PCI, PC/104 and PC/104-Plus systems.
